Dust test

Dust tests are used to judge the influence of sand or dust on objects. With sand and dust tests, following failures can be obtained

  • penetration into cases or housings
  • change of electrical properties (faulty contacts, change of comparative tracking index etc.)
  • jamming or stiffening of movable parts (bearings, axis, axles, etc.)
  • surface abrasion (Erosion)
  • staining of optical surfaces
  • obstruction of ventilation inlets/outlets, pipes, filters, opennings etc.

Test chamber capacity
900mm x 900mm x 1000mm

  • Recirculating air, Turbulent air flows
  • Temperature: 20-90 °C
  • Wind velocity: 18-50 m/s
  • Sand grain size: 500-3000 µm
  • Sand konzentration: 1-1000-....g
